We all love keyboard shortcuts, right? One of my all-time favorites is “Cmd-Z” or “Strg-Z” to the Windows users. It let’s you undo the last thing you did, for example deleting a sentence in a document or using the wrong brush in your gorgeous photoshop art.
I myself have become quite accustomed to employ all these little helpers to ease me through my work flow. Right now I was taking notes of a text I had just read for my exam and I accidentally pulled the little yellow sticky off the …

The big day has finally come: Volumes 14 (and 15) of the Babylon 5 Script set (containing 15 volumes) have been released today on CafePress.com!
These scripts, which I have already written about here have been published over the course of the past 3 years, starting in October 2005. They contain all Babylon 5 scripts that have been written by Joe Michael Straczynski (JMS) himself – which includes most of the 110 episodes of the 5 year saga. In addition, every volume includes extras that make the eyes of every fan …

Recent conversation (for real!):
Starstuff: “Hi, I’d like to know what kind of requirements are set for the exam »History and Theories of Sociology«”.
Examination Office: “Oh, no problem. Please go the website of the professor, it should all be there.”
Starstuff goes to the website, checks every link and page twice. Nothing there. Decides to call the secretary of the professor. Difficult, because no opening hours are given and secretary is only available two days a week for about three hours (you can read it on the little piece of paper …

I just couldn’t resist. I had a beautiful image of the Babylon 5 station (from alecm.com) and a gorgeous screen shot of John Sheridan from »The Lost Tales«. And I thought they’d work well together.

Eureka »

I just discovered a new TV show (well, new to me, it’s already finished its second season and has been picked up for a third): »Eureka«.
I love it. I’ve only seen the pilot so far, but it was incredibly funny and twisted. Sometimes it gave me a hard time to wrap my brain around all the different aspects. Here’s a short summary from Wikipedia:
»Eureka« takes place in a high-tech community, located somewhere in the Pacific Northwest and inhabited entirely by brilliant scientists working on new scientific advancements that frequently go …

Knowledge can be a burden … and I mean that quite literally. I went to the college library last week to get my books for my final exams and I went by car. Why’s that special?
Well, we have an excellent public transportation system here in Dresden (seriously!), but I had my doubts I’d enjoy swaggering home carrying two travel bags full of books. I picked up 39 volumes.
After compiling my reading list and having it approved my professor, I am down to 29 books I need to read. And about …

Finally I have all the time I need to re-install all my essential applications and migrate my data.
As I wrote here, a very nice employee of Cyberport helped me backing up my data from my broken MacBook before sending it in for repairs. Thank godness he did, because the Mac was returned to me with a new logic board and a new hard drive.
Migrating Mails
This was on top of my priority list. Since I didn’t have a clone of my system, I could not use the migration assistant and had …
