Babylon 5 Scripts – New supplies delivered!
Praise UPS! Praise CafePress! Praise The Great Maker!
After spending the weekend working my way through season 2 of Babylon 5, I finally entered season 3. The Girl Who Knows Everything About B5 keeps bugging me to finish the series before the FedCon; everytime we call each other she can barely talk to me because she’s afraid she might spoil an episode for me. That’s especially frustrating as I keep firing questions at her about the video clips she’s preparing for the convention. A normal sentence then sounds much like (Reading advice: Start enthusiastic, change over to incredulous, and end in desparation.)
“Oh, and I’ll be using THAT scene from season 5 in the episode … wait, did you even WATCH season 5 yet? No? What about season 4? Only until »Apotheosis«? OMG, then you don’t know yet about … well, this THING that will happen to … one of the characters.”
Now that I also own some of the Great Maker’s (JMS) script books I have made it a habit of reading the summary of the episode first. It’s interesting to watch it afterwards with all those hints and background information in mind … you kinda feel like you’re in on a joke not everyone gets … nice feeling! :) But, as my luck runs, I just finished the episode “Dust to dust” and that is where my volume 5 also ends! So, I couldn’t keep watching until my newly ordered volumes 6-10 would arrive! As my luck goes, of course UPS was at my doorstep this morning … and I was at college handing in my final thesis!
“But it’s an imperfect world and we never get exactly what we want. So get used to it.” (Sheridan, “Epiphanies”)
While I was putting up the task of finally cleaning up my apartment (yeah, that kind of slipped pretty much to the bottom of my priority list while I was writing), the door bell rang. Okay, I know the heading of this entry gives it away, but guess who it was?!? Yeah, UPS! Usually they don’t stop by again the same day, but the driver said, since he was in the area anyway … gotta love them!
So, I ordered on Feb 28 and got it delivered today. Incredible, once again, when you keep in mind that those books came from the middle of the US and crossed the atlantic ocean to end up so far in the east of Germany (geographically speaking!).
Now it takes even more motivation on my part to start cleaning while the new books are tempting me and the DVD is already in the slot. Darn, life can put some hard choices in front of you.
But at least The Cat is happy too. She has some fetish for plastic bags, don’t ask me why. As soon as you put anything remotely like a plastic bag on the floor, it’s hers. So she has claimed the wrapping of the books. And her laser eyes warn me pretty clearly not to take it away from her again ;)

Thanks for making me laugh. I needed that *g*
