Not even 24 hours left and then a dream will finally come true for me: I will go to a scifi convention, meet people who are as interested in this as I am and I get to meet some of my favorite actors in person. Unbelievable.

While this may seem crazy or distorted to many people, I believe that every one needs something to look forward to and to get a kick out of. FedCon has kept my mood up for the last months and really is the first positive thing that has happened to me since the many tragic events of the last year. Already I have formed friendships with people whom I will meet tomorrow for the first time, but over the internet we have become close and sometimes even called each other.

No matter what, the next three days will be awesome.

It was the dawn of the FedCon XVII, ten years after I had first heard of »Babylon 5«. The FedCon is a dream given form. It’s goal: to create a place where scifi fans from Europe and the rest of the world can meet to indulge their passion. It’s a port of call, home away from home for fans, actors and enthusiasts of all kinds. A dozen different nations wrapped in the glass surroundings of the Maritim conference center … never alone in the night. It is an amazing place and it’s our last, best hope to find like-minded people: this is the story of Europe’s largest Star Trek & SciFi convention. The year is 2008. The name of the event: FedCon XVII.
