Since I usually catch on to TV shows either when they already have been cancelled or when at least two or more seasons have aired, I am so not used to actually wait for new brain food to come out. I guess, klti, tschilai and Batch can tell you everything about that kind of feeling, as they are all huge BSG fans.

Now, I have discovered a wonderful little show called »Eureka« in March and rapidly went through two full seasons. The show fun, doesn’t take itself too seriously, and had an …

It still seems a little unreal to me: save the last two exams (which shouldn’t post a serious hurdle) I am done with college and I am working full time. After working towards this moment for the past nine years (since 11th grade) I can’t really believe it’s here now.
To get a grasp on what it means that this nightmare called college is finally over, I started to move all the stuff out I don’t need anymore for my last two exams. It turned out I had to make two …

Ich lass es mal unkommentiert :D (To my English speaking readers: Sorry, but I won’t translate that. Let’s just say the long word has two meanings, one describing a latte macchiato and the other … )

t-0 days: Almost missed it!

Really, I should sync my clocks more often … while my Mac was still giving my 5 minutes at 26, my radio watch already proclaimed me one year older. Oh well, I just missed it by a couple of seconds ;) While humming “Happy Birthday” to myself and pouring me some champagne, I finally got to rip those Amazon packages open – YAY!
Now five books are waiting to be read and I am in the luxurious situation to decide on which one I want to start first – finally I don’t …

“This is our moment. This is our time.” Barack Obama in Berlin

After much controversy (about the when and where) Barack Obama just delivered his much awaited speech in Berlin, Germany in front of 200,000 people.
I imagine it must have been quite a challenge to write the speech, since it had to appeal to his potential US voters, to us Germans and to Europeans alike. Not an easy task.
As it is with many political speeches – they sound great, but little will ever be done to reach all the aims proclaimed. This has to be taken into account and if we accept this …

t-1.5 days

Now, I passed my exam today as well (2.0, yay!), went to work (another: yay!) and upon coming home found three (!) Amazon packages waiting for me.
The only problem is: it’s not my birthday yet! So I can’t open any of the packages though two of them are full of books I ordered myself, I just don’t know which ones! *argh* This is hell!
And to my surprise another book is now listed as “purchased” on my Wish List that I certainly did not buy. This list thing is working much …

Songs that move your world

Quite by accident I stumbled across the music video of “Angel” by Sarah McLachlan on YouTube and clicked on play. And it hit me. Powerfully. Memories crashing in, feelings flooding through my body …
I watched the movie »City of Angels« on my birthday, just days after it hit the theaters in 1998. Wow. That is almost exactly 10 years to the day now. Apart from the fact that the movie touched me incredibly and remains one of my all time favorites, the song “Angel” got stuck in my head and I ended …
