“So much to do, so little time.”
Really, how is one supposed to keep up with things? I slowly understand how news agencies must feel: there’s always news coming in and you have to be fast to stay on top of things.
Right now, I have the feeling that I am lagging behind. The only thing I managed was to finally start on my book wish list. Not because I want anyone to get me a book, but because I tend to forget what I wanted to read. So, the list is just a reminder for myself - put up on my website because that is safest place for it and I won’t lose it here. Funny way in which to utilize the new technologies.
But other than that? I mentioned Al Gore’s “Repower America Speech“, and now there’s even more news to it which I don’t have time to cover. My reading list has shrunk (meaning I did all the reading) but now I have to put all of that into my brain by Tuesday 11am. While Jarsto is busy with worldbuilding, I only found the opening sentence for my novel and realized that my plot is moving at a snails pace. In addition, I finally want to write an article about the Babylon Podcast (which I absolutely love) and Voices of Babylon (which is absolutely compelling). In addition, Jarsto got me hooked on DVORAK, so I am trying to learn that a well (and try not to get too mixed up when I revert back to QWERTY).
But, like I quoted, there’s just not enough time right now. First I need to fill my brain with information on political online communication and computer mediated personal communication. After that, expect a flood of articles

If it’s any consolation - given how much of your trouble I seem to be causing - I know exactly how you feel. It’s very rare indeed for me to be able to really read all the summaries (never mind articles) my RSS feeds pull in on any given day.
And more often than not entire RSS feeds get marked as read without even being glanced at, simply to get rid of the things telling me I still have to read X articles (X being any number, but generally over 100). Granted this is partly a sign I simply need to prune back the number of RSS subscriptions again, but mainly it’s about time. I’m interested in all the feeds I’m subscribed to, I just don’t have time to read them.

Then I am already a step ahead of you: About four months back I reduced the number of my RSS subscriptions to four; I think previously it had been about 10 or 15. I could not possibly keep with everything and - like you - started to delete everything without even having looked at it more closely. Now it’s manageable and I actually enjoy getting news this fast; I learn more about what’s going on than back when I watched the news. And newspapers were always behind on things so I never enjoyed those.
(Incidentally, thanks for taking the time to read and comment here!)
But I am glad we established you are reason for my time-troubles, it’s always good to have someone else assume the blame *giggle*

Only 4? For that matter only 10 or 15? I’m at 38 feeds right now, though to be honest about 10 or so aren’t likely to produce anything more than once a week. And yes, http://www.rule-twentynine.com/feed/ is one of them.

What? How do you get to do anything else except reading the news? I am already swamped by the NY Times, Wash. Post, FAZ and Macworld (not to mention those RSS feeds I have for update purposes only like Versiontracker or Macupdate).
By the way, why don’t YOU have a newsfeed? Never mind, you’re putting up news so fast I don’t need a feed. Every time I visit your blog there’s something new there *goes to check again*

Like I said, I have to knock out entire feeds without looking most days. Mainly though I’ve gotten pretty good at selecting what to give a further look just from scanning the headlines.
As for my site, it does have a feed for the blog. I just checked and noticed it’s not linked on the site itself, though it should be throwing an RSS icon into the address bar. The link is: http://www.jarsto.nl/blog/feed/
