Now, I passed my exam today as well (2.0, yay!), went to work (another: yay!) and upon coming home found three (!) Amazon packages waiting for me.

The only problem is: it’s not my birthday yet! So I can’t open any of the packages though two of them are full of books I ordered myself, I just don’t know which ones! *argh* This is hell!

And to my surprise another book is now listed as “purchased” on my Wish List that I certainly did not buy. This list thing is working much better than I thought :D

“I can only wait so long.”
“I thought your patience was infinite.”
“Since space and time are curved, the infinite sooner or later bends back upon itself and ends up where it begun. And so have I.”

    Nah. I just checked. I can’t open the packages without tearing them and my parents will notice on Saturday. This takes all the fun out of it :x

    If it were me I’d just rip them all open. No piece of carboard is going to keep me from any book that’s been sent to me, ever. All I can say is you’re showing more resolve than I would.

    Don’t get me wrong, usually nothing would be able to stand between me and books, but since they are present and I am required to open them tomorrow in my parents’ presence … it’s kinda hard to pretend I haven’t touched the packages after the cardboard is all ripped 8)

    Congratulations to your exam. And congratulations, of course, to the hilarious heading. :lol:
    As for the packages, the following algorithm can be applied:

    for j = 1 to 3

    do { open package j real slowly }
    until (you catch a glimpse on the color and the number of books);

    turn your eyes away quickly;
    compare the colors and quantities to the books you ordered;

    if (colors and quantities match) {
    rip your packet open enthusiastically (don't forget cheering);
    enjoy your books; }
    else {
    put the half-opened packet into the closet;
    keep it there until Saturday;
    }

    next j

    You just had me really rolling on the floor laughing! That is hilarious.

    And I am one step ahead of you: I tried to peek inside the packages yesterday and I think I strained my neck because I had to turn my head in a very unusual angle. Still, no success. Those Amazon guys know what they are doing :evil:
