Holy frak! Guys – tschilai, Batch and klti, please feel addressed - how could you do that to me? Okay, so Batch called me the “Avoider of final episodes” … and rightly so! My sub-conscious knows what it’s doing (even without hearing music!).
SPOILERS FOR BSG SEASON 4 EPISODE 10 REVELATIONS AHEAD
‘Finally watch those two last episodes of BSG’, they tell me. And now I did … I am completely blown and to be honest: if I’d known how amazing those two shows are, I’d have watched them a lot earlier. But, as …

YAY! Big time! Yesterday, as I was returning from my rather short photography trip and while my brain was slowly shutting down from the cold wind blowing me and my bike off course, I had a revelation. Others might refer to it as plot.
(Anyway, it just shows that the Great Maker was right again, though he might not exactly have had cold ears and fingers in mind when he wrote this:)
The future is all around us, waiting in moments of transition, to be born in moments of revelation. No one …

Alright, long time, no write … sorry everyone, I have been a little busy lately. Not to mention the tiny bit of stress parents can put on you – traveling abroad without any insurance papers so a trip to the doctor involves the spouse at home and the kid to arrange meetings to get papers faxed. It’s just a little difficult for the kid to explain to spouse (and father) where to meet when the father’s points of reference in the town are from the GDR period. How am I …

Surprise! November is coming up! And with it NaNoWriMo. I was kind of shocked to realize that this much time had passed already since I first heard about the campaign back in July. It was brought to my attention by long time NaNoWriMo writer Jarsto, who already got plot.
Unfortunately, I can’t claim the same for me. Well, not entirely. I’ve got half a plot. I have worked the personal side out, I know who will be liking whom and for which reasons; I know who will not like each other and why. I got the whole ‘interpersonal …

Alright, after this week was all but perfect and it was sometimes really hard to remember that life is beautiful still, I did something yesterday I had planned for years, but never got around to: I grabbed my bike and drove along the river Elbe which runs through my home town of Dresden. The sun was shining, it was warm enough to wear shorts and a t-shirt … and the colors! The beautiful autumn colors were almost causing a sensory overload.
I always wanted to take some short biking tours, but …

To be absolutely honest: when this “financial crisis” hit the news, I didn’t really worry about it. I don’t have enough money to invest into anything, so my understanding of these financial things is not too deep. And, after all, it happened far, far away. So why should it bother me?
Well, I guess, just like me, you couldn’t help noticing that the issue didn’t vanish from the headlines of the newspapers, online magazines or from the tv talkshows. And, now, it really has been driven home for me when the …

My problem: I have an iPod touch which has the capability of surfing the internet, but only via wifi. I don’t have a wifi router (there was no money left for an Airport Express device). But I wanted to go online anyway.
Here’s the solution, if you have a Mac! I guess there are other ways as well and I don’t know how to set this up on a Windows machine, but if you’re a Mac user, this should help you.
What you need: a Mac with an internet connection. My Macbook …

Instead of whining about me not getting my dream job I’ll just introduce you to some of my new music.
Starting off with a Discovery Download from the iTunes Store: A little bit of country music brings you Ha-Ash feat. Brandi Carlile with their song Already Home (Amazon w/ preview). It’s nice and emotional and well worth listening to. Continuing with country: I finally decided to re-buy some songs by Mark Wills from his album Wish You Were Here. I originally bought the CD back in 1998 while I was …
