One moment of perfect beauty
Alright, after this week was all but perfect and it was sometimes really hard to remember that life is beautiful still, I did something yesterday I had planned for years, but never got around to: I grabbed my bike and drove along the river Elbe which runs through my home town of Dresden. The sun was shining, it was warm enough to wear shorts and a t-shirt … and the colors! The beautiful autumn colors were almost causing a sensory overload.
I always wanted to take some short biking tours, but unfortunately my ex-significant other never felt this way too and in the end we never went. Last year at this time I was grieving too much to even notice summer had turned into autumn. But this year the golden trees, still fresh-green fields and gleaming red wine leaves were just screaming for me to come and admire them.
And I did … one hour along the river into the center of the city and then one hour of extremely relaxed biking back home. By chance, my iPod played Ludovici Einaudi, who is performing some of the most tranquilizing piano music I have ever heard.
Just imagine yourself on the bike, the warm breeze on your face, the sunshine on your skin, the river flowing quietly next to you and all around you a spectacle of color - and then the unwinding piano notes in your ear.
