Drazi conspiracy

I usually do not believe in coincidences, but sometimes life is just weird. The company I work for has moved to a new office building and once I sat down on my new desk and looked around (literally), it hit me: the design company responsible for the interior must be either headed by a covert Drazi or there must be some other kind of conspiracy.

As you can see, this can’t be a coincidence. No one their right mind would use those colors together in the same …

Humor as a form of appreciation

Just stumbled upon something in the Babylon Podcast forum that made me laugh out loud. The full humor will probably only reveal itself to you if you are familiar with the podcast and maybe with Voices of Babylon as well.
For those of you B5 fans who have not yet listened to the podcast (seriously, you have no idea on what you are missing out): Jarsto is a long time listener and did call in very often with voice mails, which were so hilarious that he inspired others and in the end he, …

My favorite christmas movies

Well, it’s this time of year and even though snow is scarce in this region of mine, I don’t give up hope for a white christmas. And to get into christmas spirit without the winter wonderland around me, there are a couple of movies I like to watch in this season because they capture the spirit and make me feel all warm and fuzzy.
The “Santa Clause” Trilogy
Those are for fun. The concept is fresh and the way the stories develop is surprising enough to be entertaining. It might not be …

I just cracked up laughing about this pic over at punditkitchen.com … I suddenly had the image of a group of people standing outside the picture, longingly glancing at the snow to their feet or even balancing snowballs in their hands, not daring to throw anything because of the Secret Service agents. *rofl*

Cut. Print.

Starstuff got herself a new printer! Yes, believe it or not, even thought I try as hard as I can not to use any paper or only when it is absolutely necessary, I have the occasional need to print something (and you can’t always do it at work).
Getting new toner cartridge for my old B/W laser printer would have cost me around 60 Euros. The new color laser printer cost me 124 Euros (arm ache included) + 3 Euros for an USB cable (why don’t they supply that, really?). The …

R.I.P. “The First Lady of Star Trek”

The Roddenberrys
Majel Roddenberry, widow of Star Trek creator Gene Roddenberry, has passed beyond the Rim on December 18 at the age of 76. She lost the battle against leukemia at her home in Bel-Air. Her family was with her. (Official homepage)
For me as a science fiction fan, the name Roddenberry is as deeply connected to the genre as is the name Juri Gagarin in the science community associated with space travel. The Star Trek universe has been a constant for me since I started to watch TV.
Majel Barrett Roddenberry was …
