MacHeist Free Apps Giveaway
Well, sometimes it’s good be a part of mailing lists, otherwise I would have missed on the great giveaway by MacHeist. In the spirit of christmas they are giving away free copies of fun and useful Mac apps and if you refer friends – and those friends register with MacHeist – you can get even more apps.

Hi! I signed up for this macheist thing and I received the email today. I clicked on the link and the download of iConquer started. Then the app asked for a key. I thought this was a gift, not a demo!
Can someone explain me better? Thanks!!!

Of course it’s a fully working copy, but you have to get a license from Kavasoft (for free). The license will be emailed to you automatically (if I remember correctly). It took about a day for me to get mine, so don’t be impatient, I guess they’ll have a lot of requests on their hands.
Enjoy the game :)

The only two that I was interested in are 1password and iConquer – but I have already bought both of them. But still a nice idea. ;)

I just wanted to write that it had escaped me that you are a fellow Mac user … considering the forum we both met the first time, that would probably have been the stupidest statement by me. Ever. 8O
Anyway, I am still trying to figure out how much advantage 1password offers over the auto completion of Safari and I didn’t even get around to the games yet (Enigmo is challenging me at level 4 so much that I am short of giving up).

The main reason I use 1password is that it syncs all the passwords to my iPhone and does auto-login for me on the little device, too.
Before using 1password I basically had one really good password I used at almost everything, so I had no problem remembering it. But you can be easily compromised using this technique – thanks to 1password I don’t care about remembering them and it also auto-generates them for me.
The idendity-central is also a very neat feature – there should be a screencast on their website, it made me buy the app, iirc. ;)
