bsgcatchupEvery BSG fan who’s been gnawing at his or her fingernails since last year, hold on to your hats! Check out this hilarious – and I really mean it – clip that will help you catch up and remember what happened before the show went into hiatus (I still wish harm on the executives who decided to leave us hanging in midair like this). But beware – you’ll probably need an oxygen infusion afterwards. It’s absolutely hysterical!

It’s funny. While you were eagerly anticipating season 4.5 of BSG, I was totally looking forward to season 2. A couple of weeks ago I decided to give BSG another try. (As a parenthesis, I watched the first half of the miniseries some time ago on TV and it didn’t quite convince me). Well, this time I watched through the whole three-hour pilot and the complete first season (on DVD) and was blown away by the character arc and the nightmarish atmosphere. And let’s not forget that cliffhanger from hell at the end of season 1… I still have my issues with the show (too much to elaborate on right here) but I’m awaiting my season 2 DVDs (and try to avoid any spoiler in the meantime).

On an unrelated side note: The movie “Changeling” (German title: “Der fremde Sohn”), written by JMS and directed by Clint Eastwood, has been nominated for no less than three Oscars. Unfortunately, it includes neither best original/adapted screenplay nor best director but instead cinematography, art direction and Angelina Jolie’s performance (actress in a leading role). That said, it represents a major milestone in JMS’ career to have been part of this movie and quite a few critics explicitly praised his writing. I definitely intend to see this movie although it’s not a favorite genre of mine.
