My thoughts are with my sister’s family today. My brother-in-law’s mother died, one month short of her 80th birthday, peaceful in her sleep. She will be laid to rest in May, once her husband, who has left us a long time ago, has been transferred here.
There’s not much to say except for how very, very sorry I feel for my sister’s family’s loss.
This journey has ended. Another begins. Time .. to rest now.

This Saturday, March 28, make a stand and switch your lights off for one hour, starting 8:30pm!
For the third year in a row, organizations, individuals, and companies are asked to support the cause of Earth Hour. The goal is to raise awareness about the climate crisis and environmental challenges by switching the lights off for one hour (better: switch off as many electronic devices as you can).
Everyone involved knows that this action will not make the difference, but it will get people thinking and that is the most important thing. …

And that was the end of the story. For five years, I’ve been following Battlestar Galactica, sometimes breathlessly, sometimes annoyed, but always interested and during some extraordinary episodes regarding it even as a possible worthy successor to the Babylon 5 way of story telling.
With the last couple of episodes my expectations for the finale were running high. You have to understand: normally I avoid show finals. Why? Because once watched, the show really is over. There’s nothing left for the imagination (how might the arc of the story come to …

As you may have noticed, I made some changes to the look of the site (hey, you RSS readers, that would be a good time to stop by and compliment me). I have established key themes and used the images at the top of the start page to provide easier access to them.
Since environmental and political issues are always of interest to me, they had to go on top. And considering my obsession with various TV shows and my passion for movies etc. that topic was set as well.
The third, …

Every Mac-user: head over to MacHeist and profit from the incredible bundle of software there. Oh, and spread the word! The more people buy, the better the chances that all the apps are unlocked.
Uhm, and if you want to be nice, contact me before you buy and I can refer you – which will unlock additional apps for me. It’s like a snowball system: I refer you and get two app packages unlocked, you refer someone else and so on.
Come on, what are you waiting for?

Battlestar Galactica »
Sheesh. It’s Monday after the final episode of »Battlestar Galactica« aired and I am trying desperately not to get spoilered – as probably every non-US series fan.
I got my first shock on Saturday morning as I went to the NY Times website for my morning fix of news. What was jumping right at me? A picture of Baltar and Caprica Six! You won’t believe how fast I closed that site. Cmd-W has never been so helpful.
Visiting the forums I read regularly has been challenging as well. Through half closed eyes I …

+++Update: Now with wallpaper+++
Edward James Olmos and Mary McDonnell of Battlestar Galactica attended a panel at the United Nations (seriously, the real UN!) together with producers Moore and Eick.
The panel, which was moderated by Whoopi Goldberg, dealt with human rights – and how the violation of the same as shown on the show sadly reflects reality in many parts of the world.
Apart from the fact that the BSG team got invited to participate in the event – I mean, how COOL is that?!? – a certain speech has touched me …
