If you’ve been reading my blog regularly, you know that I wrote a number of entries about the appearance of Edward James Olmos, Mary McDonnell, Donald Eick and Ronald Moore (all of Battlestar Galactica) at the United Nations. I was impressed by the fact that an influential and important body as the UN would invite actors and writers/producers of a sci-fi show to speak about current political topics and human rights issues.

UPDATE 2.30pm – my colleague who sits opposite me just started screaming excitedly and pointed wildly at the sky, while she almost tore the cord of her headset out of the PC. After almost spilling my lunch over myself in shock, I understood that she was seeing Air Force One in the sky. Forgetting to swallow, but swearing hard, I hastened to switch lenses on my camera and raced into our – now police free – cafeteria. And indeed, it WAS Air Force One! Got a nice shot or two …

While the excitement about the visit of the US president mounts, I have to exercise an enormous amount of self control not to tweet and blog every little detail I notice.
