Since I am a huge supporter of his ideas (yes, I know, he too makes scientific mistakes), I thought it best to share this speech with you. When the horror silences you

Update: I don’t know any specifics of the case involved here, but seeing in print what “interrogation” means for US officials is sickening, disgusting and will certainly cost me more than one nightmare. How can a nation that is sanctioning this kind of treatment be surprised when everyone starts shooting at them? (And I so very much hope that our government will never descend to that level or already has.)

I just read in the New York Times that Google has to turn over all user data of YouTube visitors to another company (there is a lawsuit of some kind involved), but the thing that worries me most is that Google actually stored that data … ALL that data since YouTube was launched in 2005!
Of course, I am aware of the fact that your every move on the internet can be tracked, but actually storing all that data? You start to wonder what they are using it for - or …

Today is the election of the new mayor of Dresden. As I wrote earlier, I actually dug my way through the party programs. It was a quite short endeavor: they all look more or less the same.
In the GDR we only had one party (yes, we had things called »elections« anyway though no one was fooled about what it really was). Now we have god knows how many parties and still you don’t really have a choice.

… not really promising. And I am not talking about the US elections here; I am still waiting what will happen next in this regard. Since I am a Clinton supporter, I am deeply disappointed that she most likely will not make it to the White House as President. But maybe Obama will do the only smart thing there is to do and offer her the spot on his ticket. I’d really like to see them both running for office, I think they will win for certain then.
